Event: Engagement 2

Assalamualaikum,

Continued from yesterday's entry. The engagement ceremony is where the family from both sides come to an agreement that both their children are engaged and start to plan for a wedding. Normally the engagement period is for one year (but still open for negotiation whether to shorten the period or lenghten it; 'setahun hidup' - the term that normally used).

In the ceremony, the 'engagement ring' will be presented to the family of the girl. Upon agreement of the term and condition including the 'hantaran' or gifts, the ring will be presented to the girl ('menyarung cincin').

Two elders representing both families, checking on the engagement ring before both agreed on the engagement.

Thank you.

Event: Engagement 1

Assalamualaikum,

I was busy with two ceremonies last weekend, i.e. engagement ceremonies of my sister in-law as well as solemnization of the newly wed brother in-law.

This was the first time for me to cover events or ceremonies. I was unofficially appointed by the family members to be the photographer... hehehe....

Here are some of the shots of Shima, my sister in-law.

'While waiting...' This photo was taken through a mirror at her side. The red bouquet was placed in-front of the mirror creating the foreground with flash bounced to the ceiling

A lot more buildings with beautiful architecture and concept can be observed along the main road of Presint 2. May be I will be going there once more to capture those beautiful buildings either during the day or at night.

Meanwhile, please enjoy the HDR images.....

Assalamualaikum,

Still with HDR journey along Presint 2 of Putrajaya. There are many architectural beauty along Presint 2 of Putrajaya. Based on my observation, each of the government building has its own criteria and beauty, each one is different from each other.

Strolling the area at night, I observed some enthusiast photographers experimenting techniques in night photography.

The following is the comparison of normal photo against HDR image of night photography.

Night Photography 6 - Masjid Putra

Assalamualaikum,

Continue our journey into Masjid Putra of Putrajaya. While entering the praying hall, one would be mesmerized by the architectural beauty of the internal design of the building and the majestic praying hall. The reddish colour of the internal decoration enhanced its beautiful structures.

View of the praying hall from outside...

The 'Mimbar' located at the front of the praying hall or 'Dewan Solat'

Another view of the pillars showing how high is the ceiling or 'kubah' at the center of the praying hall.

The rear view of the praying hall. The upper level is for muslimat (female) area.

The 'Kubah' or dome of the Masjid Putra; big and majestic...!!

Although the building is big and beautiful, sad to say that the Jamaah are few. Many of them were outsiders visiting the Masjid. And some of the Muslim visitors drove away while the Muazin called for Solat Maghrib.

However, these photos were taken after maghrib prayer, and I waited for most of the Jamaah to clear the prayer hall. I met one gentleman who asked me is there any religious class in between Maghrib and Isyak. Good question that need an answer...

Thank you.

HDR: Putrajaya 1

Assalamualaikum,

Come back with HDR images. I had photography outing 2 days ago at Putrajaya. I arrived at Dataran Putra at 6.30 p.m. after about 50 minutes drive from Subang. The sky was cloudy, preventing the sun from shining, with some haze which was visible to naked eyes. Not really suitable for landscape photography.

However, I still proceed. Using the ISO200 and aperture ranging from 5.0 to 8.0, I managed to capture several images of Masjid Putra. For this time being, I concentrated in producing HDR images, thus by using automatic exposure bracketing (AEB) I captured 3 photos for every scene.

The last image was captured just before the Muazin recites the Azan Maghrib. Not sure why the image came out with blue colour, but it look nice.

Hope u enjoy the view.
